Write for us

We publish people who have run the thing they are writing about. If you have a specific story with numbers in it, we want to read it.

What we publish

Practical pieces on nonprofit strategy: fundraising, planning, governance, technology, finance, programs. First person is fine. Real constraints, real numbers, what you would do differently. 1,200 to 2,500 words.

What we decline

Anything that mentions a link, domain authority, a sponsored post, a "collaboration", or a client you want to promote. Anything written to sell a product. Anything without a named human author. We decline these without a reply.

How links work

Your bio gets one link, marked nofollow. Body links go to primary sources only. See the editorial policy.

What we ask of you

First person is welcome, but the piece has to be about something you did, with the numbers, the constraint, and what you would do differently. Disclose any organization you work for that sells to nonprofits. Tell us if you used AI tools to draft; we do not run pieces that were not substantially written by you.

Rights

You keep your copyright. You grant us a non-exclusive license to publish and to keep the piece online. You can republish it anywhere 30 days after it runs here, with a link back.

What happens after you pitch

We reply within ten business days if we want the piece. We edit to the house style and you see the edit before it runs. You can withdraw at any point before publication. We do not pay at this stage.
