About

Editorial policy

Nonprofit Strategy is an independent publication. It takes no vendor money, runs no sponsored content, and sells nothing. It is funded by its editors.

Who writes here

Staff pieces are published under the byline Nonprofit Strategy Editors. They are researched, written, and edited by the editorial team and reviewed before publication. Guest pieces are published under the contributor's real name with a short bio of what they have done.

Sources

Claims that carry numbers link to a primary source in the sentence they support. We do not cite vendor marketing as evidence. We correct errors in place and note the update date on the piece.

Contributor links

Contributor bios may include one link to a personal or organizational site. It is marked nofollow. Links inside the body of a guest piece go only to primary sources, never to a commercial site.

Vendor affiliation

Contributors who work for a company that sells to nonprofits are welcome. Their affiliation is disclosed in the bio. They do not write about their own product category.

Paid placement

None. Requests for sponsored posts, link insertions, and partnerships are not answered.

Use of AI

Editors use software tools in research and drafting. Every published piece is reviewed by a person who is responsible for its accuracy. Guest contributors disclose any use of AI drafting tools when they submit, and we do not publish guest pieces that were not substantially written by the named author.

Corrections

Email editors@nonprofitstrategy.org. We respond within five business days. Three levels apply. Typos and formatting are fixed silently. A factual error is fixed in place with a dated note at the point of the change. An error that changes a recommendation gets a dated correction note at the top of the piece, and the updated date moves.

Licensing

Templates are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Use them, adapt them, and credit the page they came from. Articles are copyright of the publication. Guest contributors keep their own copyright and grant a non-exclusive license; they may republish their piece elsewhere 30 days after it runs here.
